National Whitetail Deer Education Foundation Announces Deerassic Classic Giveaway

CAMBRIDGE, OHIO ­ The National Whitetail Deer Education Foundation announces the kick-off of its Deerassic Classic Giveaway, a raffle with over 200 prizes, culminating in a free drawing event August 23, 2003, on the centeršs grounds.

A $50,000 cash prize is the top give-away item. Other top prizes include three SUVs, three pickup trucks, seven ATVs, four campers, two Harley Davidson motorcycles, eight bass boats with trolling motors, and 24 $1,000 cash prizes.

Tickets to the Deerassic Classic Giveaway are $100 each, and ticket sales are limited to 10,000.

The National Whitetail Deer Education Foundation (NWDEF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education and preservation of the whitetailed deer, Ohiošs state animal. The National Whitetail Deer Education Center will serve as the permanent home of The Ohio Whitetail Hall-of-Fame Museum. It will also be the home of Deerassic Park, the Centeršs live deer attraction. The Center is located across from the entrance to Salt Fork State Park on U.S. Route 22 east of Cambridge, Ohio. Proceeds from this raffle will go to development of the Center and its museum.

Some of the prize vehicle models include: 2003 Jeep Liberty 4x4 SUV; 2003 Ford Explorer 4x4 SUV; 2003 Harley Davidson 1200 Sportster; 2003 Kawasaki Mule 4x4 ATV; 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 pickup truck; 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer 4x4 SUV; and Coleman Classic and Pelican Rhino10š bass boats.

Also included as prizes are 96 rifles, shotguns or muzzleloaders; 40 $500 cash prizes; and two all-inclusive trophy whitetail hunts on an Ohio hunting preserve.

Each ticket holder will also receive a complimentary 1-year family membership to the NWDEF (a $40 value).

The raffle drawing will be held during the Deerassic Classic Giveaway event Saturday, August 23, 2003, on the grounds of the National Whitetail Deer Education Center. The event is free to all ticket holders. Free food, soft drinks and entertainment will be provided. Drawings begin at noon, with an average of one drawing every minute and 45 seconds. The final drawing at 6 p.m. will be for a $50,000 cash prize. Gates open at 10 a.m. the day of the drawing. Non-ticket holders may attend the raffle event for $15.00.

A special early-bird drawing will take place at 11:45 a.m. on the day of the raffle event. Deadline for entrance in this drawing is Saturday, February 1, 2003. Ticket must be purchased and stubs returned or postmarked by this date. The early-bird pool of tickets will be entered into drawings for three prizes: a Polaris Sportsman 500 4x4 ATV; a Pelican Rhino 10š bass boat with trolling motor; and a Remington 1187 shotgun.

All winning numbers are drawn lottery style (numbered Ping-Pong balls), so any ticket number could win more than once.
