What is the National Whitetail Education Foundation ?

The leadership of the National Whitetail Deer Education Foundation hopes you enjoyed yourself at the first-ever Deerassic Classic event. This Classic is already scheduled for 2004 in an even bigger fashion. See you next August in wonderful Guernsey County of Ohio not far from Salt Fork State Park and the historic city of Cambridge! Thanks for helping spread the word about the wonders of the whitetail deer.

Please bring this information sheet home and tell your friends about your positive experience at the Deerassic Classic. Defined below are the four primary activities of the Foundation, an independent, non-profit group of Ohio business leaders. Please ask the Outdoor Education & Information Station team any questions you might have … or when you get safely home, check out our web site (www.deerassicclassic.com) with photos of the Classic and other information listed. Only 200 or so folks won huge prizes today but the big winners were ALL the thousands of others who now can say they were "there" at a major outdoor event in 2003 to raise money for a good cause in a big way! Thank you all very much!

Special events each year:

The Deerassic Classic is the start of many other big events, featuring an annual Giveaway each August. Other special events could include Scout trips, outdoor shows, educational events for kids, and bird watching seminars.

The Deerassic Park:

The 117-acre property is already home to research and educational projects centered on a herd of genetically superior whitetail deer that include massive, wide-antlered bucks. Dean Ziegler and his team continue to study the habitat, genetic, and other conditions that contribute to Ohio’s huge whitetail bucks.

The exciting plan is to someday have a restaurant with outdoor seating amid a wooded area where whitetail bucks of all shapes and sizes will be roaming.

Unlimited educational outreach potential:

The educational potential of the Whitetail Foundation is unlimited. One aspect could be a team of educators bringing the Foundation and whitetail story to you … presentations to schools, civic groups, and outdoor clubs that will teach more about the outdoors and the potential of Deerassic Park.

Eventually, guided educational trips and events will be offered at the Deerassic Park. The learning opportunities apply to kids, parents, teachers, outdoor writers, biologists, state agency leaders, and even non-hunters.

The National Whitetail Hall of Fame

Dean Ziegler’s incomparable collection of some of the largest whitetail trophies in the state and the nation are already on the property. Designs are completed for the eventual construction of a spectacular museum complex where these trophy deer and the entire history of whitetails could be tastefully and exquisitely displayed. Fund raising efforts continue!
