What to know/ wear/ bring
- All field trip activities take place outdoors. Please ensure all students wear appropriate
outdoor attire, including sturdy shoes with socks (no sandals or flip-flops), sunscreen, jackets, coats,
hats or gloves if necessary. Students and adults should be prepared for hiking on natural dirt trails in the
woods, and spending three hours outside. There is currently no indoor facility, gift shop, or flush toilets
(although these are planned for the future).
- The cost for the field trip is $5 per student. There is no charge for teachers or adult volunteers.
- Maximum capacity is 120 students per day. Please have your students divided into equal and
numbered groups (Group 1, Group 2, etc.), each with an assigned adult, before you
arrive. Up to 60 total students should be divided into four groups. 61-120 students should be
divided into eight groups. You must provide one adult per group. Groups should be no larger than 15
students each, allowing for a quality, hands-on experience with each of our presenters.
- Students and adults must provide their own lunch and beverage. Lunch will be outside under a shelter.
- The Outside Is In! program is not yet fully handicapped-accessible. If you have a student with special
needs, please contact us to discuss special arrangements.
- Cancellation due to inclement weather will be made by 8 a.m. the day of the scheduled visit.
- Please let us know if your bus/es cannot arrive by 10:30 a.m., or if you need to depart earlier than
